DIG is a game about appetite and nerve.

The loop

You tunnel through the lot, pocket gems as you go, and try not to be underneath when an anvil drops. Most gems wins.

Gems, and then consequences

Tunnelling is the easy part. The greed is what gets you. Every second you spend scooping gems is a second you’re not watching the ceiling, and the anvils come down without much warning. Once they’re loose they stay loose.

So you learn to count. Two more gems, or leave now while the tunnel is still above you? It’s a small decision you make twenty times a round, and it’s the whole game.
